On February 27, 1971, Lamont D. Elkins, our bundle of joy, was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Fred Elkins, Jr. and Loretta Herndon. Lamont was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ardell (Wright) Elkins, Horace Herndon, and Oral Hopkins. Lamont attended Wheeler Elementary and Douglass High School. Life was a quick and adventurous journey for Lamont. The early awakening of his manhood produced five sons: Lamont Elkins, Jr., Garrett Dennis, Kendrick Turner, Aaron Elkins, and surrogate son, Elijah Singleton. Lamont had a fascination for motor cycles at an early age. He also loved to drive cars. His love for motor cycles led him to become a Ruff Ryder (Gdawg). He was also good with his hands, tearing down and putting things back together. Lamont leaves to cherish his memory five sons: Lamont Elkins, Jr., Garrett Dennis, Kendrick Turner, Aaron Elkins, and surrogate son, Elijah Singleton; his parents, Fred Elkins, Jr. and Loretta Herndon; the special woman in his life at the time of his departure, Pam Collins; grandparents, Fred Elkins, Sr. and Barbrie Io (Forshee) Hopkins; three brothers: Jeff Frazier, Jr. (Natalie), Zaire Williams, and Darvis Atkins; one sister, Brandy Elkins; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
