Ernest "EJ"/"Chop" Johnson was called home at the age of 66 on Friday, April 10, 2009. EJ was born to Ernest and Dotsie Lee Johnson Sr. on March 26, 1943. He was the oldest of eight children. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two brothers, Marvin Johnson, Sr. and Russell Paul Johnson; and two sisters Beverly Bryant and Sheila Johnson. He was a 1961 graduate of Douglass High School. He was employed at Weaver's Grocery Store, Humpty Dumpty Grocery Store, American Farmline, and Transcon Freight where he retired. Ernest began his own janitorial business in 1992, establishing "Johnson's janitorial." His favorite hobbies were bowling, playing dominos, and being out on the greens playing golf. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife Wanda Johnson of the home; two sons, Ernest "Sonny" Johnson III (Shirley) of Oklahoma City, OK; Darrell Johnson (Dana) of the home; one daughter, Ernika Johnson (Johnny) of Oklahoma City, OK; one stepson, Troy Carr (Michelle) of Shawnee, OK; two brothers, David Bernard Johnson (Narva) and Ray Charles Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Barbara Bryant-Sykes (Jessie)of Oklahoma City, OK; two grandchildren, Tyree Johnson and Nikale Maciel and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
