The journey began for Maudie Lou (Boots) Brown, July 12, 1937 to Joe and Eva Lee Brown in Maxwell, Oklahoma. She moved to the Shawnee area in 1946 and later to Lawton, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, four sisters and two brothers. She received her education at Dunbar and Douglass School in Lawton and graduated from Dunbar in Shawnee in 1956. She was united in marriage to Larry Z. Davis on February 11, 1967. She worked for Newton Walls and Oklahoma State University Extension. She was baptized at an early age. On November 19, 1960, she united with the Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. F. S. Scott. She was the church clerk and program chairman for many years and president of the usher board. She later united with Liberty Baptist Church. Maudie was always willing to give and help others whenever she was called on. She leaves to cherish her memory one brother, Fred Brown (Barbara) of Acworth, GA; two grandchildren: Juan Brown (Jessica) of Moore, OK and Latoya Ayers of Oklahoma City, OK; A faithful niece and nephew: Glenda and Willie Butler of Lawton, OK; a faithful great-nephew, Ray Butler of Oklahoma City, OK; one aunt, lona Kellum of Tulsa, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, great, great-great, cousins, friends, god-niece and nephew.
