Lizzie Mae Harris-Milton age 81, was born in Fayetteville, Texas to the late Tommie and Annie Mae Harris. She is the eight child out of nine siblings and all preceded her in death. Liz began to sadly say, “I’m the last one!”
In Dallas, Texas, she met and married Eddie Willie Milton, (Wiggly) in 1964. Together they had 3 loving children, which she recently started saying I have 3 hickeys and a knot. Jr., Russell and Rochell. She explained that hickeys were boys and knots are girls. Eddie preceded her in death on July 13, 1997.
Liz accepted Christ at an early age while staying with her grandmother, Classie Jane Patterson, whom she loved dearly and talked about all the time. She enjoyed preparation time for the Harris Family reunions. She was known for always making us matching shirts for the family reunions at Grandma’s house. It didn’t matter what time of night it was, we all were called to come and try on our family reunion shirts. The sewing machine would be making the tv mess up, but she kept sewing. She would be sewing and cooking at the same time and never burned her food.
She is a member and attended True Vine Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop William Hennesy, in Houston, TX until she moved back to Dallas August 8, 2018. She kept in contact with the first family during her illness. Liz loves her True Vine family and is extremely fond of Bishop and First Lady daughter Sheryl. She would often ask does Sis. Hennesy know where I am? Then she would say, I know Sheryl does and laugh.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories 2 sons Eddie Willie Milton Jr. (Kimberly), Russell Earl Milton (Artelia) and one daughter Rochell Milton-Braimer (Delton), 4 grandchildren, Jacquesha Milton, Delton Braimer, II, Claiborne Braimer and Taylor Milton, 2 great grandchildren, Kordel Braimer and Kamera Braimer-Brown, 2 sister in laws Audrey Howard-Harris whom she loved dearly and Rachel Dancer-Harris and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
She loved her children dearly and she stayed strong in their presence, but on December 18, 2024, after eating a mouth full of red and green grapes, she took her last breath and went home to be with the Lord and the rest of her family. She was at peace and knew the Lord had prepared everyone and would give strength to Jr., Russell and Rochell to live their life until we meet again.
