Rose Mae(Brailsford) Hill, lovingly known as “Nana”, was born January 1st, 1946 in Pinewood, S.C the
daughter of the late Lue E. (Peter) Jones and Noah Brailsford. She was one of four children, twins
Mary and Martha and 1 brother Edward Brailsford of Willingboro, N.J.
She departed this life on January 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family, after fighting a long battle with
Cancer, she was 79yrs old and a 4 time Cancer survivor. She attended Manchester High School and graduated from Nyack High School in New York. Rose married at an early age to Mr. Otis Davis. Later in life she married Mr. Joe Hill
After relocating to Oklahoma, she worked and retired from General Motors after working 25 years. She later worked at the Springhill Marriott Hotel chain for 19 years.
Rose was an active and very faithful member of the Greater Marshall Memorial Baptist Church. She was part of the Women’s Ministry, Fulfillment Hour & was very proud to stand as an Usher, and with that beautiful smile to welcome in the members and visitors. She was active until she could not.
Rose Hill was a woman of principle and conviction with righteous judgment. Not only was she the
Matriarch of a large family she had a huge and welcoming heart to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by Parents, Grandparents and her son Ivy Davis, her granddaughters; Destiny Hill,
Kimberly Davis, Shenell Marshall and one sister Minnie L. Mack .
Her memory will be cherished by her children: Minnie D. (Fletcher) Leaf; Brenda Davis
Thurman, Ottice R. Davis, Michell Cooper Cordice, Kelly Hill, James Edward Hill and
Joe Hill. 23 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren, her twin sisters, her brother, her best friend(Josephine Bowers) along with a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
She will be greatly missed.
